Jon Aram Founding Partner
Jon’s primary focus is on building and managing Next Street’s advisory practice.
Jon has more than 10 years of experience in developing and delivering strategic recommendations to senior executives and a solid track record of combining rigorous financial analysis with economic development. His hands-on experience with all aspects of small business ownership includes raising equity capital, and has allowed him to build relationships with Boston’s target market companies. Jon combines big-picture strategic thinking with expertise in complex quantitative analysis, advanced spreadsheet and database modeling, scenario analysis, valuation modeling and the development of profitable growth strategies.
As a consultant at Marakon Associates from 1996 to 1999, and then at Galt & Company in 2004 and 2005, Jon’s responsibilities ranged from engagement management to analytical design and execution. In 1999, Jon founded his own consultancy, which he ran for six years, advising companies of all sizes, government agencies, foundations and nonprofit organizations on core financial and strategic issues as well as community-based programming. Clients have included The Coca-Cola Company, Genentech, Bank of America, ITT Industries, The City of Boston, and The Forbes Funds.
As a seasoned small business owner, Jon raised and repurchased equity capital and gained in-depth experience with all aspects of small business ownership and management, including product development, sales, marketing, human resources, finance and administration.
Jon is a frequent speaker at university and civic events, a board member of Building Impact, an active Big Brother and a member of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Greater Boston. Jon has a B.A. in Economics from Yale University, where he was Academic All-Ivy in the sport of football and was elected by teammates to receive the Jordan Olivar Award. Jon enjoys spending time with his family and sports of all kinds. He is the five-time champion of his fantasy baseball league.
