Tim Greenfield Partner
Tim’s primary focus is on building and managing Next Street’s advisory practice in New York.
Tim is experienced in operations management, sales and marketing and business strategy, as well as structuring and negotiating deals including financing of senior debt capital, equity capital and mezzanine financing.
Prior to joining Next Street, Tim co-founded GDC Acquisitions, an investment firm that acquired and operated several businesses. GDC Acquisitions expanded revenue from $30 million to $70 million over four years after which Tim sold his stake in the firm. Most recently, Tim led the financial restructuring of a distressed manufacturing business.
Prior to GDC Acquisitions, Tim spent four years at McKinsey & Company consulting on a wide range of strategic and global projects for Fortune 100 clients. He worked in various industries including the automotive industry, retail, e-commerce, food and beverage, cable and private equity.
He was also a Business Unit Manager at General Electric working in various management and technical roles in GE Appliances, GE Transportation Systems and GE Power Systems. Tim completed GE’s Management Program and was trained as a 6 Sigma Black Belt.
He holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a Masters in Engineering from Northwestern University, and a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Jai Jai Greenfield, are also co-owners of a New York wine business that includes a retail store and wine bar. They have one toddler, Corey Julian. In his spare time Tim enjoys golf, music, classic automobiles and vintage watches; and he is an avid Michigan Wolverine.
